Animal/Nuisance Control Officer
THE Thermopolis Police Department is accepting applications for the full-time position of Animal/Nuisance Control Officer with part-time responsibility as a Communications Officer. The Communication position is the hub of radio and other communications for patrol officers during routine and emergency situations. This person sets priorities, disseminates information, answers telephones and radio traffic, dispatches emergency service units, documents and maintains records, and operates a variety of office and other equipment in the communication center. The ability to communicate effectively and speak clearly and distinctly is desirable. Must have a working knowledge of computers and the ability to maintain a certificate as a Notary. This person’s primary responsibility will be the enforcement of town codes pertaining to Animal Control and Nuisance Properties. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, pass a physical and psychological exam, and pass a criminal and personal background check.
