    GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  
    The Wyoming Pioneer Home is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Building and
    Grounds Specialist.  This position is responsible for the upkeep, operation, maintenance
    and safety of the 84,000 sq. ft. facility and five acres of land and sidewalk surrounding the
    building. Refrigeration certification preferred.  This position performs facility preventive
    maintenance, basic building repairs especially related to refrigeration and HVAC, snow
    removal and grounds keeping. The Wyoming Pioneer Home is a licensed assisted living
    facility, located in Hot Springs State Park in Thermopolis, WY, close to many outdoor
    activities and within a short drive of Cody and Yellowstone Park.  
    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to
    describe every function which may be performed in the job level.
     Performs preventive maintenance on building facilities and grounds and assists
    other trades personnel on projects including new construction projects.
     Operates, repairs, adjusts and installs a variety of complex equipment, vehicles,
    fixtures and systems using carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, mechanical
    and other trade skills; schedules outside vendors and contractors as needed.
     Assists with the monitoring, assessment, and scheduling of all building and
    grounds maintenance needs.
     Receives, maintains and conducts inventory of building and grounds supplies and
    equipment.
     Assists facility occupants with furniture arrangement and removal.
    PREFERENCES: 
    Preference may be given to individuals with experience in refrigeration and HVAC
    maintenance and repair.
    KNOWLEDGE: 
     Knowledge of safety and regulations.
     Knowledge of agency policy and procedures.
     Knowledge of light and heavy duty equipment.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    Education:
    Associate's Degree
     
    Experience:
    0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Building and Grounds) with acquired
    knowledge at the level of a Building and Grounds Assistant II
     
    OR
     
    Education & Experience Substitution:
    2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Building and Grounds) with acquired
    knowledge at the level of a Building and Grounds Assistant II
     
    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
    None
    PHYSICAL WORKING REQUIREMENTS:

     Exposure to hazardous materials, bodily fluids, chemicals, body parts, bio-
    hazards, potential explosive, and/or the elements.
     Must be able to drive vehicles, and/or operate large complex cleaning and
    grounds maintenance equipment.
     Physical ability to lift, twist, bend, pull and push up to 50 lbs or more.
     Work weekends and evenings when the situation requires it.

    NOTES

     A background information check, including taking of fingerprints, will be
    completed through the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, the
    Wyoming Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant.
    An Annual influenza immunization is required.
