    Position Overview
    This position reports directly to the Hot Springs County Nurse Manager. The MCH nurse performs
    nursing assessments, diagnosis, treatment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individuals,
    families, groups, or to the population, with a special emphasis on women and children. The nurse teaches and
    counsels clients and families both through in-home visitation and in the Public Health office. The nurse also
    arranges and conducts nursing clinics and classes.
    General Responsibilities
    • Educates and empowers individual clients throughout their pregnancy and their children until the age
    of two.
    • Performs routine administrative work as needed by answering phones and providing public assistance.
    • Conducts pregnancy testing, HIV and STI testing.
    • Assists in Covid-19 response, flu clinics, immunization clinics, and HIV/STI testing when indicated.
    • Teaches labor and birthing classes, lactation counseling, and other classes as needed.
    Public Relations
    • Promotes positive public relations within the community and government and upholds a positive public
    image of the agency.
    • Responds to clients in a friendly, compassionate, and helpful manner.
    • Maintains professionalism by exercising tact, diplomacy, and courtesy at all times.
    • Assists health education events.
    • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with other relevant community organizations.
    • Participates in monthly Child Protection team meetings or any relevant Multidisciplinary Team
    • Participates on relevant coalitions, boards, and/ or agency projects.
    • Participates in public health emergency response coordination, drills, and events.
    • Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of
    • Must have proficient computer skills and the ability to quickly learn other programs.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license.
